The fourth, closing concert will be the summary of the "Pianokrąg" project. It will also be a natural consequence of the programme assumptions of Bartek Wąsik's earlier concerts and his repertoire selections presented during the summer months in the Warsaw Królikarnia.

 

The audience who managed to hear the three previous concerts will have an opportunity to appreciate the full coherence of the cycle on 13th September.

 

The concert will present the composition "Pianokrąg", whose genesis goes back to various sources: dictaphone recordings of transient sounds of the surroundings, fragments of tunes or a few chords written on the staves in the past, even 20 years ago, recorded improvisations, overheard sentences or thoughts. Words will appear, but in the form of an additional track, as a comment or a bridge linking individual songs. Additional sounds will come from field recordings made by Bartek Wąsik, including calls of cranes, creaking escalators of the Warsaw metro, or the clatter of wheels of the Trans-Siberian train. The form of the concert, resembling a radio drama at times, will focus on transmitting impressions, interpreting sounds of nature as signs, meanings, prophecies. A recurring theme, repeated in variants on the piano, like a motto, will be the piece’s connecting element.

 

Compositions and arrangements of Bartek Wąsik have been attracting the attention of audiences and critics for years. He is the author of recognized projects such as "Nowa Warszawa" with Stanisława Celińska and the Royal String Quartet, "Folk Requiem" with Adam Strug and the Kwadrofonik Quartet, of which he is a co-founder and member. His last project - "Astronomy of the Poet. Baczyński”, which is the result of cooperation with Mela Koteluk , was entirely created during the pandemic.

 

The original composition "Pianokrąg", which he will present during the last concert of the series, will have its premiere in Królikarnia.

 

The concert will be heard live and on the Internet.

The surroundings of the palace in Królikarnia, thanks to the supporting sound system, enable the audience to hear the concert while walking in the park, sitting or lying on the grass, maintaining at the same time all the rules of safe social distance and direct contact with the Artist.
