CITY WALK: The Courtly and the Plebeian – the Sculptures of the Northern Areas of Central Warsaw, part 2
How was it possible to keep under control the naughty little models who posed for the reliefs that adorn the city centre? How many artists were involved in the collaborative project of embellishing the Grand Theatre with decorations? Why did aged fishwives laugh at an urbanite sculptress? We will explore these questions during the upcoming tour of the northern areas of central Warsaw.
Meeting: 18th June (Thursday), 5 pm, next to the Sigismund Column in the Old Town | The tour is available also on 3rd September (Thursday), 5 pm, meeting in the same place
The cycle was created by Hanna Dzielińska – journalist, Warsaw guide, awarded 2nd prize in the competition for the commemoration of the Great Synagogue in Warsaw (May 2013).
The tour accompanies the exhibition Figures of Speech. The Architectural Sculpture of Warsaw 1918-1970
