Panel discussion (in Polish), Gender Awareness – Between Modernism and Modernity. Psychoanalytic Interpretations, in relation to the exhibition, Rodin / Dunikowski. Visions of Women.
A discussion (in Polish) based on the wider, gender specific issues set out by the joint exhibition of works by Auguste Rodin and Xawery Dunikowski.
The exhibition "Rodin / Dunikowski. Visions of Women," has directed our attention to wider issues of gender. The fundamental pivot, and key to the presentation of these great artists’ works, is to compare the ways in which they looked at their models – women, with whom they were often united in love, friendship and profession. Questions are provoked concerning the status of women in contemporary society and the dynamics in relationships between the sexes. Do these visions of women created by Auguste Rodin and Xawery Dunikowskiego fit into the patriarchal paradigm of a bygone era, or is it possible to see them as transgressive?
Guest speakers will include; Paweł Dybel, Gabriela Matuszek-Stec, Joanna M. Sosnowska and Joanna Turowicz.
